Position Control Units with EtherCAT Interface

 
High-speed Control

CJ1W-NC82 is connectable with the EtherCAT slaves of 64 nodes or less, in addition to the servo drives. Even when servo drives and remote I/O slaves are controlled with the same EtherCAT system, the control performance to control only servo drives can be maintained.*

 

*Maintains fast control cycle of 1.0ms for 4 axes Servo Drives, even when four-axis Servo Drives and GX Series terminals (number of control point: 352 points or less) are connected. (When four-axis Servo Drives and 16 points I/O terminals are connected with CJ1W-NC482).

High-speed Starting

The servo system is started within 0.4 ms* (minimum time which includes communications time) after PLC sends start command.

 

This provides faster starting than with pulse-train control.

High-speed Processing

The control cycle of the Position Control Unit is now as fast as 0.5 ms.


High-speed starting combines with a short command cycle to the Servo Drives enables
smooth Servo Drive control.

Simplicity

 

Simplified System on the Integration of Motion Network and Field Network

 

Integrated Network

In addition to the Servo Drives, slaves such as Inverters, Vision Sensors and I/O Slaves with EtherCAT communication function have been supported.

 

It is now possible to build an integrated network on the Position Control Unit with EtherCAT communications using the Ethernet cable only. The overall system will become simple and system cost will be reduced.

Use the Same Programming as for High-speed Pulse-train Position Control Units

The Position Control Units with EtherCAT interface use the same positioning functions*
as High-speed Pulse-train Position Control Units, and the programming interface is also
the same.
* Except Synchronized control function

 

You can easily switch the unit type between the Position Control Units depending on the application.

 

Common programming enables easy introduction into existing systems.

 

 

Support for Both Direct Operation and Memory Operation

You can use direct operation to perform position control by directly specifying position data, speed data, and acceleration/deceleration data from a ladder program. You can also use memory operation to execute positioning operation from the Position Control Unit.


In Memory operation, repetitive JUMP command reduces ladder program and ensures fast control without being affected by PLC scan time.

 

Ladder program for repeated operation monitoring and control is not required.

One Workflow from Position Control Unit to Network and Servo Drives

CX-Programmer version 9 Programming Tool (see CX-One)

 

Just connect the computer to a PLC port to set up the Position Control Units with EtherCAT interface and EtherCAT communications.


You can also directly connect the CX-Drive Support Software to set the Servo Drives connected to the Position Control Units.

 

You can also connect the CX-Drive to G5-series Servo Drives directly with USB.
